Ed Woehlcke joined Valley Financial Group in September of 2016 as a Managing Partner. Ed has built the majority of his career around education and investments. He believes his most recent career experience, five years as a Regional Director with Brinker Capital consulting to financial advisors and providing portfolio solutions to them in the New England Region provides a great background in educating and guiding clients towards their most important financial goals. Attention to detail, good listening skills and great empathy are symbols of his appreciation by his clients. He is effectively supported by a team of administration and investment products specialists whose teamwork and professionalism help him build long-term relationships with his growing client base and provide excellent customer service.
Ed was born and raised in Northeast Philadelphia. The proud son of a Philadelphia police officer, Ed graduated from Archbishop Ryan in 1994 before receiving a degree in Mathematics and Education from LaSalle University in 1998, where he was captain of the Men’s Soccer team and started 78 games (and never scored a goal!). In addition, while working full-time and attending classes for 6 years, he received an MS degree in Finance from Temple University in 2010.
One of Ed’s favorite topics in the investing field is behavioral finance and how helping to manage an investor’s emotions can lead to better outcomes for investors in reaching their financial goals.
A Personal Note
Ed is happily married to his lovely wife Robin. They reside in Collegeville, PA with their son Colin (11) and daughter Ella (9) and can often be found attending soccer, basketball, and lacrosse games and practices.
Away from the business, he enjoys playing golf, basketball, soccer, and tennis, as well as reading and spending summers at the shore in North Wildwood.
